Historical Information
Olive Glen Foundation was formed in 1987 when the North Valley Foundation, (providing independent living) and Olive Glen, (providing Christian Science nursing) merged. Church members from the Sacramento Valley made contributions and donated items to the Thrift and Gift Shoppe. With these funds, two residences were purchased and joined together forming the two-acre non profit residential Christian Science nursing facility.
After several years of reorganizing the staffing and building usage, the decision was made to build four additional apartments and for Olive Glen to provide three levels of care - the Terrace — independent living; the Courtyard — assisted living, and Hilltop — skilled Christian Science nursing. Each building accommodates six individuals. Our Christian Science nurses provide home care on their time off.
We loan equipment to the Christian Science community. We are an accredited member of The Commission with other Christian Science nursing facilities. Our two major community events are our "Tea" (usually in March) and our Annual Meeting. Olive Glen is governed by a volunteer board.
Olive Glen Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) Christian Science nursing and residential organization serving humanity by supporting Christian Science healing in a caring family atmosphere.
